Theory for Camera Setup

When capturing stereoscopic content an aspect that must come under consideration is the viewing comfort of the audience.  Orthostereoscopy is a form of stereoscopy that matches the viewing perception of human vision.   

This requires the two cameras to sit the same distance as two eyes would, this being on average 63.5mm.  Combined with the correct focal length, that being determined by the “human angular field when replicated in the theatre” (Mendiburu, 2009, p.78) the process creates a viewing experience most associated with human vision and consequently being the most comfortable to look at.
